HISTORICAL LANDMARK ACHIEVEMENT BY TIMBO AFRIKA Installation of the Smart Parks surveillance system in Central Tuli.Last month, history was made in Botswana with the first Smart Parks monitoring system installed by Timbo Afrika Foundation. Another watershed collaboration with the Department of Wildlife and National Parks and the central Tuli landowners. How does it work?Through a network of gateways, information and movements can be transmitted from a series of sensors located throughout the reserve. This ultra-advanced system will provide an effective monitoring mechanism to counter poaching incursions and improve security; substantially reducing reaction times. Furthermore, sensors are able to transmit locales and movement patterns of animals, which will compliment the data of our leopard and hyena research project. The system will provide security and effective monitoring for our earmarked relocation projects (watch this space!)With Smartparks systems deployed in 4 other African countries, Botswana joins an elite list of committed high-tech conservation leaders. The installation in central Tuli is a further indication of the passion and dedication of Timbo Afrika and our founder Mr. Albert Hartog toward wildlife conservation and community alliances. This is a giant leap forward in the consolidation of the Central Tuli as a conservation-force, not only in Botswana, but on the entire continent.
